Frequently asked questions
Is this actually free?
Yes. Lenders pay us for introductions. You never pay us anything, and using the service creates no obligation to accept any offer. More detail on our how we make money page.
Will checking my options hurt my credit score?
Submitting a request on our site doesn't touch your credit at all, because we don't run credit checks. If a lender wants to prequalify you, they typically use a soft inquiry, which doesn't affect your score. A hard inquiry only happens later, if you choose a lender and formally apply with them.
Are you a lender?
No. We're a comparison service. Lenders in our network make the offers and all the decisions. We make the introduction.
What happens right after I submit?
Lenders review your request, usually within minutes. The ones who are interested reach out by phone or email. Expect calls from numbers you don't recognize; that's normally your matches, not spam. We also send you a confirmation email so you know your request went through.
How many offers will I get?
It depends on your credit profile, income, state, and what lenders are looking for that day. Some people hear from several lenders, some from one, and sometimes nobody bites. We can't promise a match, and you should be suspicious of any site that does.
What loan amounts can I request?
Between $100 and $60,000. Whether a lender will offer the full amount you ask for is up to them.
Do I need good credit?
No. Our network includes lenders who work with a wide range of credit histories. Better credit generally means better rates, but plenty of lenders specialize in fair or poor credit. Be honest about your credit band on the form; it helps match you with lenders who'll actually say yes.
Is my information safe?
Everything you submit is encrypted in transit, we verify submissions to keep junk out of the system, and your details go only to lenders matching your request. The full picture is in our privacy policy.
Can I get my information removed?
Yes. Email offers@summitcapitaldirect.com from the address you used and ask.
Should I take the first offer I get?
Compare first. Look at the APR, not just the monthly payment, and check for origination fees. Our guide to understanding loan costs walks through what the numbers mean. And one rule worth memorizing: a legitimate lender never asks you to pay a fee before you receive your loan.
